About Venmar Academy

Venmar Academy is the teaching arm of Ask Astro Private Limited. It exists for one thing: passing on traditional Tamil astrology to people who want to practise it properly, rather than collect a certificate.

What we teach

Six courses, in four subjects — the foundations (charts, grahas, the twelve bhavas and the Kalapurusha principle), the predictive systems (Jamakkol and horary), marriage matching in the Tamil tradition, and the ritual side: pooja vidhi and parihara.

The sequence matters. Basic Astrology is the prerequisite for almost everything else, and our Jamakkol teacher will not take a student who has skipped it. That is not gatekeeping for its own sake — a horary system taught to someone who cannot read a raasi chart produces confident nonsense.

Who teaches

Everyone who teaches here also practises. The worked examples in class come from charts our teachers read that month, which is the difference between learning a system and learning to use one. You can read about each of them on the teachers page.

How we are set up

Ask Astro Private Limited runs three things: consultations and poojas at askastro.org.in, an ecommerce store for pooja essentials at asknatural, and this academy. One account covers all three.

Venmar does not do readings, remedies or bookings, and never will — a teacher who marks your work should not also be selling you a consultation. If that is what you are after, our sister service is the right place.

Where we are

The classroom is at 42 Temple Road, Mylapore, Chennai 600004. In-person batches run there; hybrid batches also carry a live link so students outside Chennai can sit with the class.
